What treatment besides root canal is there for infected teeth

Teeth do not get infected - gums do. Teeth get cavities that you repair by getting fillings.

Depends on the severity of the infection. l was on massive amounts of antibiotics for an infected tooth and it did nothing. After a trip to the ER and no relief of the pain - l ended up have a RC and believe me, it was instant relief and l have never regretted it!

Get it pulled. l had an abcessed tooth. l took extraction over Root Canal. Have not regretted it. l have an ache in my upper left Wisdom tooth, l was to go to the dentist on Saturday, pain is too much to take, so made emergency apt today, and yup, getting it pulled.

An infected tooth is usually treated by antibiotics for a while, & if the state of the infection does not change after about a week or two, root canal or extraction r basically the only options. Both cost around the same price but root canal saves the tooth, while extraction obviously removes the tooth. If the tooth is at the front of ur mouth l highly recommend u have root canal, so u will be able to keep the tooth & not have a gap. You will also be provided with a crown, u will have to pay extra if u want a white porcelain crown.
