l got a mailer coupon from a dentist that says they only charge $46 for a regular cleaning & $29 for an exam & x-ray so total $75. l live in Las Vegas. Seems kinda a cheap gimmick?
But what is the average price for exam/x-ray/teeth cleaning w/o insurance?

l actually just got a bill from my insurance (what they pay, cover, etc). Last month in Philadelphia:

They charged the insurance company:

Cleaning: $79
Oral Exam - Periodic: $44
X-Rays - Four Bitewings: $57

My insurance paid..

Cleaning: $50
Oral Exam - Periodic: $32
X-Rays - Four Bitewings: $23

So l would say it is reasonable. They usually charge more for cash paying, but they get reimbursed less from the insurance company (so they're use to getting the 2nd set of figures).

It really depends where you go but for example in our office(we're in NY) we charge $65for a cleaning but it can be up to $100 if we need to do a full mouth scaling. The exam is $45 and the 4 basic bite wing x-rays are $40. Seems like a deal.

l pay $38 for my cleanings & $50 for my xrays because of this great plan l have.
