l have had this pallet expander for about 6 hours and it is HELL! l can not talk right, and l can not chew anything without it getting stuck on the top of it. How can l prevent this?

Food and drink gets stuck or discolors your teeth there, it can not be helped. That is an inconvenience that goes with the treatment, or product/appliance.

l got the expanders three months ago. You will get used to it. At the beginning is hard to talk and you salivate a lot. Get the water jet to clean the food that get stuck up there. You will be fine in about a week or two.

l had that and l know what you are going through. Try to drink more liquid type foods until you get used to it and can talk easier. You are not going to prevent food from getting up there. Just rinse your mouth with water after you eat. You can also go to Wal-Mart and get a water pick. They sell it where they sell the electric toothbrushes.

AHAHAHAH im sorry for laughing but l must say it is funny. l was u about a month ago. l still have my pallet expander on & my talking is much better. When l first got it put on l was so scared l could not eat, drink, talk, etc. for about a week. Now l can talk normally & eat & drink. And get this l went to the ortho. this morning & he took it off because l broke it, & it actually felt weird having it off! l was amazed because l was about to kill someone when l first got it put on & now im actually so used to it that idk what im ganna do when l get it off.
