She chews on her pencil all the time. l get emails from her teacher every couple of days! I've heard dipping it in something nasty like hot sauce. What is the best thing to dip it in? Is it an oral fixation, or just being a kid?

its not normal. but l would check into seeing someone about it, they could be either very nervous about something or they can just not work well in a large class room. alot of the times this can be fixed younger in life but later on it gets harder to break the habit. its addicting to kids sometimes
