my gums bleed, what should i do

Go to the dentist! It could be periodontal disease or maybe just some cavities

It is probably the plague in the teeth. Please visit the dentist & have teeth plague removed as soon as possible. In the mean time, u can go to the drug store to buy the 3% hydrogen peroxide. 3% only & not the other high concentration one. Please mix it with water in 1:1 ratio. Use this dilute hydrogen peroxide to rinse ur mouth twice a day. It stop the bleeding in about two to three days. Also, u need to floss ur teeth & brush teeth more frequent than usual. But, u need to go to the dentist for cleaning right away. Don't' ignore it.

After you do as the second guy said then you need to floss daily ~ twice if possible or more

You have what l have -- gingivitis, or possibly the more advanced periodontal disease, which r chronic bacterial infections between ur teeth & the bone below the gumline. When tartar develops down (and up) there, the gums can not attach to the teeth, & they get inflamed & bleed from the infection. The bottom line is that they're sick.

Do not be like me & ignore it until it gets really bad. Go to the dentist, where they will give u a checkup & probe ur gums to see where & how deep the problem is. Treatment is a deep cleaning, similar to the normal buff-and-polish cleaning, except they go under the gum to scale the roots of the teeth & remove the tartar & infection l mentioned above. You will be given an anesthetic, so do not worry -- it wo not hurt at all. Then, once the roots r clean, the idea is that the gums will be able to reattach to the teeth, & u will be scheduled to come back about a month after the root planing to see how they did.

In the meantime, the 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, diluted in water, is a great tool. If u have some money, get a Waterpik (the one with the big reservoir, not the little hand-held one) & use it twice a day on a low setting. It is more effective than flossing because the water can travel & clean where string can not. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush twice a day, & try salt-water rinses to make the area less hospitable to bacteria. All this should make u more comfortable & help with the bleeding until u get to the dentist for the exam & cleaning.

Without insurance, it should run about $300 over two visits, maybe a little more if they need new x-rays. Not cheap, but it probably wo not ruin u & it will save u getting $5000 tooth implants a few years down the road.

Sounds like gingivitis. See a dentist ASAP.
