Well i'm getting braces in a couple weeks and i'm reallyy nervous.

Like, does it hurt when they put the little metal things on, and do they put Novocaine in your mouth?

they do not hurt when they put the brackets on. what does make you uncomfortable is when they put the wire on. and they do not give you any type of medication. my advice is take tylenol before you go and after wards.

Getting braces put on doesn’t really hurt. It’s the next day that you’ll feel it and probably for a few days after…and then again every time the wire is tightened.

l wore them for years. It might hurt a little but the pain is so worth having great looking teeth!

not getting them on. but getting them tightened does.

My friend got them and she said it does not hurt when they put them on but then the next couple of days it hurts like crazy!!! Good luck though you will need it. It will hurt.

They put these metal bars in my mouth on the roof of my mouth & on the bottom of my mouth. Then they use this glue or cement or whatever its called & they put the metal things on. Then they put on the wire that goes across ur teeth. Lastly, they put on these colored rubber bands. You can choose which color u want. After u have ur braces on for a long time, u get these bands u have to put in ur mouth by yourself. Braces only hurt for a few days. You will have to get them tightened, which feel as if u just got them again. When u get them tightened, they just change the color of the colored bands, & they put new ones on, even if u picked the same color(s) again. If ur braces hurt, take tylenol. Someone told me that advil is more for muscle pain. They also told me that l should take tylenol or advil before the appointment. Good Luck!!!!! :)

it does not hurt, the metal things are just glued on..nothing much.

it does however start hurting about 2 hours after you leave the orthodontist. as your teeth start moving. your mouth will hurt for about a week when you eat so take tylenol.

your mouth will hurt when you get it tightened for about a day for about one year...

not too bad, l have had mine on for 3 1/2 years & they are Nothing!!

well l used to have braces, and to be completely honest with you, no it does not hurt at all. All they are doing is clipping on the metal things and it does not take long either. But you do have to go back regularly every eight weeks or so to get them tightened. When you get them tightened your teeth will feel pretty sore for about 2-3 days. Do not worry, you have nothing to be afraid of. Just think about the lovely smile you will have afterwards !
