l saw my dentist yesterday after having serious pain over the weekend and she said l have an infection in the nerve in the root of my tooth. Its basically shot to bits and has to come out in two weeks time once the infection has settled a little, but I am still in so much pain l wanna rip the damn thing out myself!!
I am on two different antibiotics, I've tried paracetomol and other strong painkillers but nothing is touching it. I've been on antibiotics since Saturday thanks to the local hospital but it just does not feel any better, the feeling of intense pressure is kiling me.

What happens if the infection does not settle? and what can l do to help the pain?

Unfortunately no Miracle cures for this. l have suffered with tooth ache all my life & its the worst l sympathise with you.

Things l found helped me :

Strong Painkillers
Clove Oil (availiable from most chemists, completely relieves pain but not for long. And it tastes disgusting)
Gargle with luke warm water with salt in it (this is also quite effective, but again tastes foul)
Rest ur head on a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel

l feel for you so much, l know how painful an infected nerve can be. All l can suggest is ibuprofen or dicloflenac, they're probably the strongest you can get. Or, as they have different ingredients you can take paracetamol, aspirin and ibuprofen together, that usually helps.

Go to your doctor or go to another dentist if you think he is not a good dentist.Ask help from your friends about if they know a good dentist.Think about root canal treatment, not pull out your tooth.

Hi, l am a qualified Dental nurse and l strongly recommend you contact your dentist again and tell her you can not handle the pain, she will have to get you in sooner for treatment. You can not stay in pain like that!!!!

Since you're already taking antibiotics (continue taking it), u only need something for the pain. Try mefenamic acid. l am also experiencing what u have days ago, acetaminophen does not work so my mom made me take mefenamic acid. She is a doctor so l trust her with it & what do u know, it works! The pain used to be sooo excruciating that l cry all day but since I've been taking it the pain subsided quite well. It relieved my pain & enabled me to sleep. After 3 days of taking antibiotic, the inflammation lessened & now the pain is not as sharp & throbbing as before so l went back to acetaminophen (paracetamol). l am still taking both 'coz my mom said l have an infection so l had to take the antibiotics for 7 days or 10 days for good measure.

Try buying paramol, if pain is unbearble go to doctors and get tramadol. If does not get better look at NICO (Neuralgia inducing cavitational osteosis) l have it and its very painfull.
