l just got rubber bands for braces and l have a few questions. When l was at my dentist, he only put a rubber band on the right side of my mouth, does that mean l ONLY wear it on my right side or do l still have to wear it on both sides? Do l change them (rubber band) everyday? How long will l have to wear them for and does this mean I am almost done with my braces? Thanks.

You have to ask these questions of the dentist. Only they can see how your bite needs to be adjusted. They should guide you.

Everyone is mouth is different. If he only put it on one side, u just need that side to be adjusted. They get gross/warn out pretty quick. l think l changed mine in the morning & after a meal, but this was 2 years ago, so l do not exactly remember. For some people it means they're almost done, for others it doesn't. When l got my rubber bands my orthodontist told me l was almost done, but l ended up having them on for another 6 months. Just wear them all the time & u should be fine.
