those blue rubbers r called spacers, they put them on to make a little room just before they put the braces on. they do not hurt at all.
when u finally do get the braces on, it will hurt like hell for about a week & you're stuck eating pudding so u do not have to chew (okay that part is not so bad)
what they do is they put a tiny bit of cement to adhere the bracket to ur teeth, then put the wires in. basically. but that is pretty vague.
so after u get used to them for a week they do not hurt at all, but maybe a little bit when u get something major done. like a new wire. or getting them tightened. but they definitely wo not hurt as bad as they did when u first got them on.
you will get used to them quick.
and no, they do not drill holes or give u shots or anything unless they pull teeth (they would either give u a shot or some numbing gel so that u do not feel it)
braces r really no big deal. they hurt for a while but it is not that bad. ur orthodontist should explain more to u later. do not worry.
the downside: hurts for a while, can not chew gum, eat certain foods upside: perfect, straight teeth for the rest of ur life.

lol, it does not hurt, and u will love ur smiles so much more after braces. the only thing that hurt about braces is when they get tightened, ur gums are a little soar but u get over it quick.

the blue rubbers make space to put the braces on your back teeth. and yes they hurt
and yes braces hurt really bad for the first several days but after that they are not so bad. people are not kidding when they say they hurt. im not going to lie, but you will survive and have a great smile later in life. they are so worth it

they clean & sand ur teeth, then put a glue on & place the bracket on.then use a uv light to activate the glue so it holds the bracket on ur tooth. they do this to all ur teeth & then they thread a thin wire through the brackets & then place elastics on the brackets over top of the wire to hold the wire in place. getting braces put on does not hurt, but u will experience pain when the elastics go on because it will cause ur teeth to move.adjust according to what needs to be done. they may be painful at times. but in the end l promise u it is 100% worth it!

those bands are to hold the braces together. Everyone else is overexagerating because it looks ugly to them. no No shots or hole drilling. Braces only hurt when they're put on. and every month, those bands get taken off and put back in. There are these metal hangers that are applied around the back mollers. These start off the braces. The braces are then glued to each of your teeth.

dude l had braces for 3 years. l took 2 of my upper teeth out.
yeah, braces r a hassle, & they friggin hurt. especially when u first get them, u cant chew on anything at all. after u get used to it though, its bearable. but every now & then when u go & tighten ur braces for a check up, same thing happens - cant chew for a few days, maybe a week. also, its a real pain cos l used to play alota contact sports with my friends & every time l got hit in the mouth the braces would cut my inner lip. the rubber bands around the brackets themselves r usually just for color, but the ones that wrap around the top & bottom teeth r for extra tension, & to tighten it even more. looks like ur gonna have a hard time, but its worth it thinking that l got perfect teeth now.

The actual braces did not hurt as much as the spacers the week before. They put plastic pieces in between the teeth to force them to separate to put the braces on. This is uncomfortable and a little painful. They will tell you to take pain medication but they do not give you shots or anything. It takes time to get used to the braces and although they are not the most fun to have to deal with the end results make them worth the trouble.

Oh sweetie calm down.. Breathe,,,, First of all u r lucky that ur parents can afford braces. It will only be 2 years of ur adolecent life, My niece & nephew both had braces & r SO glad they did.
What they do is put wires on ur teeth & every now & then tighten them in the appropriate spots to move ur teeth to the right position. It will be uncomfortable at times..but TOTALLY worth it. The bands r spacers that help move ur teeth.
And hey ''Cody'' Shut up! Its a big deal to her!!!

l do not know about the blue things but l had braces on for like a year (i got them off luckily) but no they do not give u shots & they do not drill holes in ur teeth at all; they basically put this glue on the side of each of ur teeth with a small brush.. & then they put on eachh bracket on each of ur teeth one by one. That way, everytime u go in to ur orthodontist appointment, they can take out & put in a new wire connecting the brackets.
It does not hurt when u get them on. but after like two hours it hurts a lot. It is not really painful like you're mouth is being cut or anything; it just feels sore. It depends on if ur teeth r straight. for some people it hurts more than others.
it is really not that bad! it will be over before u know it. right after u get ur braces on, l suggest u take a painkiller before ur mouth starts to hurt. that way it wo not be as bad.
Good luck!!

The ''blue rubbers'' r spacers.
They space out the teeth so the orthodontist can place bands for the braces there.
They did hurt me. There was a lot of pain the first day, & soreness for a day or two after. Everyone is different, though.
There r no shots or drills for putting in the braces. It does not hurt when the braces r getting put on. They have to put some glue-like substance on the teeth (it tastes gross if u get it on ur tongue), & then they position the bracket, & use some weird ''drying'' device. There is no pain, it is just a little uncomfortable.
You will get used to them after a few weeks.

They're really not that bad, of course they will be a little uncomfortable initially, as ur teeth r being moved around (as well as after each follow-up visit when they tighten them). l did not receive any shots to have mine put in ( l had them for a little over 2 years-again, NOT that bad). l honestly do not remember much about them being put on, except that it was not painful. The fact of the matter is, as much as it might seem like this sucks, when u get them off u will realize just how worth it it was to be able to show off a dazzling new smile! :)

the blue little things r called spacers. they make spaces between ur back teeth so u can get fit these certain brackets on that go around ur teeth. braces dont hurt that bad, sure they r goin to be sore the 1st couple days (u may want to eat a big meal before gettin them on.. cuz u at first wont want to eat. at least anything crunchy) but all & all its not bad. its only the 1st couple days & occasionly when they tighten them. If the pain is too bad take some advil or tylenol or something.. thats what l always did. braces brackets r glued to the teeth. their r no shots or drilled holes. It is really not too bad.. sure they will get a little annoying but in the end the results r good =)
The way they put on braces is first they rinse ur teeth then they apply the glue & then they put the brackets on & clean off any other glue. (you may want to rinse ur mouth after they r done with teh glue bcuz it doesnt taste veryy goodd. but is not a big deal) & then they attach the top wire & bottom wire to the brackets.
you may go through various other things like springs, rubber bands. but all in alll there is nothing to be worried about. =)
and u will have pretty straight teeth when they r off =D

It does not hurt at all to get Braces put on. They sick this cotton ball in ur mouth along with something to keep ur tongue & cheeks away from ur teeth. Then they take glue, like cementing glue & put the braces on that way. It does not hurt AT ALL so do not worry about getting them on. But just to warn u since it seems like u do not like pain, it does hurt to eat anything other than pudding for the first few days until ur teeth get used to having the braces on. (i could not even eat a french fry.) There r no shots & no drilling holes. l do not know what u mean by blue rubbers.. but im thinking they r either the bands around the braces or rubber bands. either one all they do is help move the teeth in place to where they should be. You will be fine getting them on & afterward, just be careful with hard foods. And afterward u get a retainer, l have mine that l have to wear every night still. thoes dont hurt either, u take thoes in & out anytime u need or want. Good Luck

l had braces when l was 17. The bands r called spacers apparently. These do hurt l remember now. They space out ur back teeth to get them ready for the braces. The other rubber bands r part of how the braces pull ur teeth straight. First they glue to each tooth a small metal piece which has a loop on it. Then they thread through the loops a metal wire & put rubber bands around the metal piece to hold it all in place & to put tension on ur teeth. These get replaced regularly so the pressure is kept tight. There r no shots or drilling to put them on. l only had to have a shot because l had to have some teeth removed before the braces went on. Not everyone has this. Braces never really hurt me much. Sometimes a little bit when they were first put on but thats it. They do not look that bad anymore either. You do not have to get blue rubber bands. If u want pink or clear ones u can.

the blue rubbers r just small rubber bands that they put in between ur teeth. after they put it in it wont hurt, but the way they work is once saliva touches it, it expands slowly & will make small gaps in ur teeth so that they can fit the metal brackets in ur teeth when u get the actual braces. They will probably hurt for a couple of days, which means u would have to eat soft foods. It is nothing that will kill u but it is very uncomfortable.
For me The blue rubbers (which r called spacers) hurt the most during the whole braces experience. When they tighten my braces every month, it does not really bother me too much, l dont really think it hurts at all, Maybe the first couple of times it will feel slightly uncomfortable but nothing serious.
You do not get any shouts at all. or no holes r drilled.
the processes of getting ur braces on:
First they take out ur blue rubbers. then they take these metal brackets which go in between the teeth where they put the blue rubbers in. this part does not hurt dont worry, u might feel a little pressure but it does not hurt. then they glue each tooth with thoes little metal things u always see on braces. thats how they stay on ur teeth, with this glue stuff, so that doesnt hurt at all.. & then they put the wire in the little metal squares. thats it. u might feel a little uncomfortable the first day but then u will be fine..
when they tighten ur braces all they do is replace that wire with a new wire, & they just make it a little tighter, this does not hurt.
dont worry, the only step that will hurt a little is the spacers (blue rubber things)

okayyyy CALM DOWN! :D lol; braces arent as bad as everyone says they are, but then again it depends on how bad someone has their teeth.
the blue rubber bands [sometimes other colors] r spacers & l think they help ur teeth move in faster. im not that sure..ive only had them in a couple times.
NO, they do not hurt really bad. the first 3 or 4 days or so they will. ur gums r going to ache because this means that they r adjusting & moving. good sign, just not a good feel :/ u will get used to it fast though. youll find yourself grinding ur teeth together, which is what l do for the pain. u can get a certain kind of gel [ask ur dentist] that u spread on & numbs ur gums for a couple of long minutes(:
for me, they did NOT give me a shot! l would have screamed & left in a heartbeat! :S they DONT drill holes either. remember--you're getting breces, theyre not removing ur teeth! they first have to get a gooey-type-clay model-thingy to find out what size of mouth u have for ur braces, & THEN come the braces. they will melt a special glue onto ur teeth while they place the brackets ontop. the brackets have little slits on the sides where they put in the wires. the brackets r also the colored part that u can choose if ur dentist lets you. u will have to wait for the glue to dry [they use a little thingy that looks like a light] & thats it! dont be too scared about it. ur going to feel stupid afterwards because u scared yourself for nothing!!! l felt the same way, & l even posted a couple paranoid questions like you!!! lol every month or so, u will go for the tightenings/checkups & the dentist will check if everything is moving properly. he might then change the wires or make them tighter. l hate this part, because its when ur gums ache & sometimes its hurts so much u can bite into hard-ish foods.
HOPE IT HELPS! trust me--youll forget u have braces really quick! l dont even notice sometimes! & yeahh, u ''cant'' eat hard foods, but l do anyways. just make sure it doesnt break through the wires :( then youll get caught & be in trouble! l eat anything basically, but l make sure to brush real good(:

l had braces & l know the whole procedure. l think the blue rubber bands ur talking about r spacers, they put them on both sides of between two teeth (usually only on the 2nd last teeth at the back). They r used to move the teeth & create space for the metal that will be placed on ur tooth. But only until u get ur braces. And no they dont hurt, only in the beginning. Braces will make ur mouth feel uncomfortable for a few days, but u will get used to them. l would say that braces r a bit of a pain with the flossing & something getting stuck to it, but it is worth the beautiful smile. No they never give u shots or drill holes or that sort of thing. When they put on braces, first they put this plastic thing around ur mouth so that it is opened during the procedure, then they glue on every brace to ur tooth, harden the glue to the brace, & then put the wire on. Good luck with getting ur braces.

l got braces 2 days ago
Them blue things r called spaces like everyone has already said & they put them in to separate the back teeth so they dentists can put these rings on them when you're getting ur braces on.
They do not hurt, it is more of an annoyance than pain, & it can be a bit hard to eat.
The braces them self do not hurt when they're getting applied, but do hurt a tiny bit when the wire gets tightened. They will hurt a bit for the next few days, mind were not EXTREMELY PAINFUL, but just like the spacers, annoying.
Just take Nurofen when u wake up, & when u go to bed & u will be fine. ;)
