How much schooling do you need to be a dental assistant?

Formal training generally takes anywhere from 7-12 months.

Depends on the dentist..i know kids right out of highschool that serve as dental assitants..no specific schooling for it, atleast for them.

Dental assistant training can be gotten through a variety of educational locations.many .Vo-tec schools offer such courses & some Community Colleges as well.It is my opinion that a Community College will offer the better quality training.
