l have a little thing in my cheek next to my tooth, it almost looks like a canker sore, only a BIG canker sore.

So, l do not know what to do.I've been putting Orajel on it, and it helps for a few minutes, but then it wears off.:-(

This is on the left side, and now my left side of my glands are hurting a little.

l am scared sh!tless.l do not know what to do anymore.l need ADVICE!.

Please somebody help me out, I am freaking out badly.


Its burns, and hurts, and it looks like a messed up bubble inside my mouth on my cheek, and when l wake up in the morning my left glands are sore too.l am scared, what should l do?

a month or so back l had a regular cancer sore on the side of my cheek [not on my gums, just my cheek] that had gotten pretty big & everyone was telling me that its the pocket of puss from an abscessed tooth, which l knew l did not have. & my sister in law who is a dental hygienist looked at it & said that it was just a canker sore that l was biting because im getting my wisdom teeth in, so new parts of my cheek scrape my tongue in back when l go to close my mouth if that makes sense? so the canker sore was hitting my teeth every time l opened or closed my mouth. so l just used canker sore stuff on it really heavily for a day or so & then it went down enough that it was not hitting my teeth & healed pretty fast.

but yeah, if u have a bad tooth around the area it could be an abscesss. do u have any pain in ur teeth? is the bubble actually touching ur gums or is it on ur cheek? l had called my SIL b4 showing it to her later, & over the phone that was the first thing she asked. she said if its completely on ur cheek [like mine was] it is not abscesscess.


** edit - by the way, my personal opinion is that oragel sucks. i've used it a few times in the past & with me it quits being numb as soon as saliva hits it. which is SOO lame because obviously if its in ur mouth its going to get saliva on it! so l just was using like wal mart brand.equate or whatever it scalled? but it is the wal mart version of ambesol & it worked pretty good. was not cheap though, like 7 dollars for a little tube. but it works better than oragel.

Numerous factors have been associated with canker sores, & what causes them in any individual case is often hard to figure out. If u r concerned u should see a doctor.

Canker sores will get better on their own without any treatment. But there r things u can do to help it along & to feel better. Orajel, Anbesol, & other ointments which u can get without a prescription will numb the sore & make it less painful. There r also prescription medications u can get that will help. There r several mouthwashes that can help – look for one without alcohol. Even if u don’t have any of those treatments, u can rinse ur mouth with salted water several times a day. It is gross, but it will help.
