A couple of days ago l had roots removed my mouth from a tooth that dropped out a while ago and a filling in the tooth next to the extraction. Now, when l close my teeth together or eat l get a sharp pain and it is uncomfortable. l have another dentist appoinment on 21st October but l do not think l can last 12 days with pain when l close my teeth together. Any advice?
By the way l started rinsing with a saltwater solution which the dentist told me to do but the pain is sharp and instant when l close my teeth together

Is the pain in the tooth that was filled? May be the filling was left high and needs to be ground down a little. If this is the case try to get the Dentist to work you in for an quick adjustment. 'Will take only a minute or two.

l hope l can help out.Several years ago,while having breakfast, l had the most terrible pain,which seemed to shoot through my head.It was the worst pain l had ever experienced in my life! After the initial pain,it took me about 5 minutes to discover if l was still alive & that my arms & legs were still working. l really had no idea what had happened. To cut a very long story short,after having a couple of teeth out,the pains disappeared for a while.However they returned on & off for several more years,until recently.Various causes were suggested by my dentists & various treatments,none of which worked.
Then recently l was talking to a dental technician & the subject got around to my teeth & these terrible pains.He asked me if l grinded my teeth.At the time l had no idea if l did.Thinking about it later l realized l had been under a awful lot of stress, on & off, over the preceeding years.It was possible l had been grinding my teeth because l was stressed & l most probably did it at night so was not aware of it.This guy suggested l get gum shields( l think they're called )to stop the grinding.
Fortunately my circumstances changed a while ago so there was no longer any stress,probably no more grinding & no more pains.
Thinking back on the whole episode, l am convinced the grinding was the cause & that gum shields would have solved the problem.
