im getting braces in like 2 weeks or one and l wanna know if l could pick my own color and if they hurt

In got braces 4 months ago. The things that hurt: spacers (rubber rings they put between your teeth to create space so they can install the expander). When they installed the metal rings around your molars, that hurts AND the adjustments. You gonna get used to it, dont worry. Take some Tylenol before going to your appointment. Yes, you can pick the color, right now mine are black (for halloween):)

No the braces themselves do not hurt. They hurt for about two days while ur mouth is adjusting to the new hardware, & then the pain is gone. Sometimes, if there is an adjustment in which they change the wire or give u some kind of new hardware, this also hurts. But, for the most part, braces r pretty much painless.

At my orthodontist, they had a whole bunch of colors l could pick from (some even glowed in the dark!). You will be going in every month to get the bands changed anyway (otherwise they decay in ur mouth. Yuck. ). So, every time u go in for ur monthly adjustment, u get to choose new colors (or the same one if that is what u like) & you're good to go.

Oh, & a tip. right after u get those puppies on, you're going to want to eat soft foods while ur mouth adjusts to them.

Most orthodontists will let you choose the color.
It will hurt for a while- because they are wires tightened onto your teeth, so it is painful- but it gets better. Just follow Dr;s advice on what to eat etc, and you will do just fine. Think of how straight your teeth will be in the end.
