can a sinece problem cause toothache? if so why?

Yes it can. The roots of your upper back teeth (molars, and sometimes premolars) can be very close to the sinuses in many people. When you have a cold, or sinus infection, the pressure build up can mimic a toothache.

The sinus can be directly above the roots of the molar & premolar teeth. This, is why before an extraction dentist will take so should take a radiograph (x-ray) to see how near the root is. Sometimes it can actually be inside of the sinus cavity, thus, when a tooth problem arises, it can be difficult to tell.

Usually, if all of the teeth feel unusually sensitive & painful, the dentist will ask if u r run down have a cold etc. Another reason to take an xray is because the root of the tooth can contain an abscess & this can be directly sinus involved.

If all of the teeth r painful, it is more likely that u have sinusitis. Go & see a dentist first, if no dental problems, visit ur G.P
