l went to the dentist 4 cleaning they said both of my canine teeth yes human are coming in crookred they told me to go to the orthadontist. what will the orthadontist say what do they do at the ortha.... how will they correct my problem

Canine teeth are simply the name given to the four teeth that are each located 3rd from the middle on both sides of your mouth, up and down. Orthodontists will check to see if you need braces, and if you do, they will give you braces. These little buggers forcefully realign your teeth, fixing any dental imperfections. It is not a big deal. Do not fret.

1. If ur canines r coming in crooked, then YES, u will need braces.

2. Orthodontists r the specialized dentist who straighten the crooked teeth.

3. They will place the brackets & bands on ur teeth.

4. Then they attach a wire through the sloughts (with ligature) of those brackets.

5. Since the wire is preformed with ideal shape of an arch, the teeth attached to that wire through the ligature get pulled into proper alignment.

7. Canines r the front teeth (1 on either side).

8. A Canine is usually the 3rd one from the midline with a pointed edge.

9. Usually, when u see an Orthodontist, the braces r placed during the 3rd visit.

This is what u can expect :

i) 1st visit : The consultation

ii) 2nd visit : The records (impression, x-rays, etc.).

They can also show u the before & after pictures using computer simulation programs, provided the Orthodontist has that software.

iii) 3rd visit : You get the braces put on.

If ur Orthodontist wants to save time, they can combine the 1st & the 2nd visit.

iv) Therefore, the earliest that u can have the braces put on will be the day of the 2nd appointment.
