okay l got my braces tightened about 4 weeks ago and it stopped hurting a while ago..but now all the sudden when l eat or brush my teeth or bitw..etc.. my mouth hurts really bad..could it be because my teeth are possibly moving? or my jaw is shifting? what do you think and how long do you think it will last?

Your teeth are moving, and it hearts because of the strength that braces make on teeth.

Do not worry, it wo not last long. But, talk to the dentist, on your next visit. Maybe he is pushing to hard on you!

yes, it is because ur teet r actualy moving. depending on how many teeth u have braces on will depend on how bad it will hurt too. if u have braces say on the entire top row of teeth, then the braces in time will move that entire top row of theeth all at once. that is also why sometimes u maight notice adult teeth with braces being somewhat loose. I'd say it will last about a few days to a week. hope l was help.

Multiple reasons-
-It may be a common soreness during braces treatment as the bone resorption/deposition occurs.Just take some anti-inflammatory to relieve pain. Then ur orthodontist can check it out.
-It is possible u have some other dental problem eg cavity,gum problem,tmj issue.Whatever the reason of the pain is, it needs to evaluated thoroughly during orthodontic treatment. As the source of the pain can be disguised sometimes under the metal braces. The regular dental checkups,cleanings, good oral hygiene should be emphasied during orthodontics to help the teeth & gums stay healthy during this important phase of teeth movement.

that is actually happening to me right this moment.
everything is fine and then about a week or two before my next appointment, it starts to feel kind of sore.
do not worry about it.


but if it starts to hurt way too much, talk to your orthodontist .

Yeah, that is happened to me before. It only lasted a few hours for me. If the pain is unbearable, then you should schedule an appointment with your dentist. Best wishes - the pain wo not last long!! :)
