l went to the ortho today and they removed some brackets. When they removed them, my teeth were rigidy because of the glue. Well they filed it down but it hurt! It makes my teeth feel all sensitive and after, my gums were bleeding! Did it hurt because of hitting my gums or because the machine is taking the enamel off my teeth?
But after filing it all away, my teeth feel shiny and smooth.

GUM BLEEDING :

1. Most likely u were not able to maintain ''perfect'' oral hygiene due to brackets & wires.

2. That is expected to cause some inflammation of the tissue. Therefore, a little bit of bleeding is normal. So, do not feel bad.

SENSITIVITY OF TEETH :

1. It is only normal for u to feel a machine rubbing against the enamel to remove the resin fillings, because these r vital teeth.

2. Do not worry. The enamel is fine.

3. Avoid eating anything very cold or hot.

4. Also use a fluoride toothpaste & fluoride rinse (e.g., ''ACT'').

5. The sensitivity will go away within a few weeks.

NOTE :

Do not forget to use ur retainer (if it is a removable one).

You do not have to worry about that if it is a fixed wire type of retainer cemented to ur lower anterior teeth (on the inside).

FYI,
this procedure DOESN'T remove any enamel
This was initially painful because there ws some inflammation in the gums.
