ive heard chewing gum was good for you because it can help you lose weight because it works you jaw muscles and you dont feel hungry a lot. but ive heard that it was bad for you because when you put a piece of gum in your mouth your stomach thinks you are eating something so the acid in your stomach builds up and it doesnt have anything to digest. so is gum good or bad for you?

Overall, gum chewing can be positive. It increases the flow of saliva which helps control dental cavities & one of the ingredients in sugar free gum is a great aid in the treatment of constipation. Have never heard about the stomach acid, though. That part does not really make sense to me since most gum is sugar free & should not be sending chemical messages that there is food. But, please do the world a favor. If u r going to chew gum, please do it discreetly & with ur mouth closed. There r few thing that r more unattractive than seeing someone working their jaws like a cow chewing a cud. l have even seen some folks chewing vigorously with their mouths open. l wonder how they keep it from falling out? Eyouuu!

Definitely good question, but l think it good. So when u are hungry just eat a chewing gum and u wont feel so hungry. It can also help u not get cavities, l guess.

Chewing gum shortly after eating helps dislodge food from your teeth if you can not brush. And occasionally, it could suppress the urge to snack, but working your jaw muscles wo not cause you to lose weight. Chewing it long-term (i.e. all day every day) is probably not a good idea as it will stress the joints of your jaw.
