l have finally built up the courage to book a dentist appointment... l was 8 the last time l visited the dentist... Im now 24! eeek. I am so scared and ashamed that l have not been for so long. l do however religiously brush my teeth to avoid such visits, but I've had a hole in 2 of my teeth for quite some time now, and one is getting painful. It is not bad all the time, but sometimes when l chew it does feel like I've hit a nerve. l specifically chose a dentist that is private, but excepts nhs patients, and also offers sedation and gas and air, but it doesnt say how much it would be on top of the usual cost? does anyone have any ideas? thanks

About £15 for an injection. Do not worry about being scared of the dentist as plenty of people are. l have friends whose teeth are in a terrible state because they are too nervous about having treatment. Your dental work needs to be done so do not suffer too much, go and get sorted. xx

in order to distract myself from the pain, l stare at the ceiling and think of the awful things that others have suffered, like kneecapping and some nightmare things from el salvador or vietnam, a little drill in my tooth suddenly does not seem so important. Well it works for me.
