Toothpaste: Apart from the flavour, is there really much difference between the cheap and more expensive

YES
With cheaper ones my mouth still smells and feels like dog breath whereas a stronger tasting and more expensive brand does seem to make my breath smell sweeter!

The only toothpaste that makes me feel like my teeth and mouth are REALLY clean and fresh is the Aquafresh Extreme Clean range. l have tried cheaper brands and value brands but l find they leave a funny after taste sometimes and had to rinse more to get all of the paste out.

At the end of the day, l think they all do pretty much the same thing, its the taste and consistency of it that makes the difference.

Actually l really do not think there is just choose a toothpaste that says dentist approve ''ADA''

l have always used Colgate or pearls drops so dont know.

l buy the Aloedent (Aloe vera) toothpaste because it does not take the skin off the inside of my mouth & does not dry the mouth.
Also it does not contain Flouride now since we can use a healthy diet which will help strong teeth & bones although years ago when teeth were bad diets were limited. Flouride is in the water & has been for years & as u may or may not know is poisonous but if u remember to let it stand before drinking the gases will dissipate. l fill a jug for the fridge.

Many of the cheaper brands are not good.

l think that all toothpaste, cheap or expensive, is pretty much the same in the basic quality.if u compare apples to apples: tartar control, sensitive, whitening, all of those things..but there is a huge difference in taste, consistency, & smell..The mechanical act of brushing is the key in all of this.it really does not matter 100% if u even use NO toothpaste..you could use baking soda (like granny did) for brushing. Find one that u like taste wise & consistency wise, & stick with that..Probably best to use the cheapest best tasting & use a good mouthwash afterward.The fluoride content is minimal.its just another marketing ploy in this name brand conscious USA

if you take the bicarb of soda and ground chalk type fillers out .
the main difference left is the price you are prepared to pay for the brand name and or the flavour.

l Think as long as one cleans their teeth on a regular Daily basis, there is little difference in the result.
Though l have always used Colgate, and still have my own noshers at 52.

Yeah you can feel the difference after you brush your teeth, they dont feel really clean with the cheap one, xx

l know Sensodyne works.
l used to have really sensitive teeth, but they got better when l used it.
l stopped using it for a while and the sensitivity returned.
l am using it again now.

in england good toothpaste are quite cheap. it really does not matter about cheap or expensive toothpaste but important is how much fluorine they've got.(about. more 1000ppm)
