Im only 16 and l do not know what to do. l had ibuprofen 800 mg and those seem to work but l have no more left. The antibiotics they gave me do not work at all! l have some tylenol too, but those on work for two hours. Can someone please give me some advice on what to do because the pain has been here for five days now!
My roots are already clean and everthing aand l have temporary filling in my tooth until they can put my crown on, my parents are very worried and so am I!

do you mean roots are filled already ot just cleaned? if filled in one visit, its common to have some pain for a week, use worm salty water as a rinse, or if it lasts or dosnt decrease,check ur dentist for removing the filling and refill

You need to contact ur dentist to have this evaluated; there could be an auxiliary canal that was missed or u may be hitting the temp to hard.

You may think the antibiotics r not working, but they actually r when taken according to directed. It takes two days for them to get into the blood stream & really start to work; when u miss a dose or skip them, all u do is allow the bacteria & infection to build up again causing that pain to continue. Do as ur dentist recommended, take the antibiotics, take an Ibuprofen at a 600mg dose which u can buy over the counter taking 3 tabs of 200mg's.

If the tooth has not been taken out of occlusion yet, u may have such swelling from the infection that the tooth is taller than the others causing u to hit the tooth too hard when u bite together; this will require a simple adjustment to correct. If u can bite ur teeth together & feel this one tooth ''touch first'' then this is the case. Try not to rest ur teeth together or bite unnecessarily.

Contact ur dentist today & start taking the antibiotics (if u have stopped) as directed, along with an Ibuprofen such as Advil or Motrin at a 600 mg dose. Tylenol wo not really work well in dental problems since it does not work to reduce the inflammation as an Ibuprofen does. See ur dentist as soon as possible to have this evaluated or adjusted.

IF there are no nerve. n the root canal complete.. l think its anther tooth or your temporary filling is high.. you might need a simple adjustment.. A constant dull ache or throbbing pain tell me its anther tooth..BUT if it hurts when you bite or when chewing then that tell me its still high!! walking in and tell them wgats wrong you should not be in pain for five days!! after the root canal you should be very sore with some pain.. but not that much
