I am almost 17, l was just recently told in the past 3 months that l am anemic. Well my teeth are REALLY bad.
Here is a few reasons some dentist have gave me.
1 drinking well water[from being a baby till l was 14].
2 being anemic.
3 smoking.
4 drinking sweet tea.

l need a lot of fillings done. Well, l went yesterday to a dentist in Grove City[Near Columbus]. They told me that l need a few root canals done. l really do not think l do because the teeth he said they need done on are not hurting or anything, but he says it close to the nerve. Well, the only tooth that has been bothering me is an OLD filling, its REALLY sensitive..

Do you think l should get another opinion???

Definitely. But that will cost you again. However ''a few root canals'' could cost thousands.

Get another opinion. And then talk with your parents and see what they say. Have your parents talk with the dentist also so you can all come up with a decision thats best for you.

First of all, u need to start seeing ur dds regularly so issues dont progress this far. He may have suggested RC is for teeth that dont hurt because the decay is very advanced & the nerve will surely be exposed. If bacteria has a slow enough leak, it can effect the nerve & blood supply without u being in agony. Also, if u r using well water, u need to supplement ur Fl2 in other ways, & toothpaste is not enough. You can get tablets at healthfood stores. Sweet tea will certainly make ur mouth a breeding ground for cavities.remember, sugar + bacteria = acid, & this cycle repeats itself about every 25 mins. So drink the tea, rinse ur mouth & be done with it, constant sipping is like bathing ur teeth in acid.NOT A GOOD IDEA! l would trust ur dds, a second opinion is needed if u want a better price, but Tx will most likely be the same.
