l have braces, and i'm about to get them off.
before l had braces, l had pretty white teeth, maybe a tad yellow.

but, as i've had my braces on, my teeth have gotten yellower.
i am afraid that when my braces get taken off, the spots under the brackets will be white and the rest yellow.

would it be okay to whiten with baking soda or something?

No! Do not whiten your teeth until your braces are off. You will definitely have different colors if you do that. Just wait until you get them off and start whitening right away if you are worried about it.
