Ok, my dog was really sick she wouldnt eat or drink and was very lethargic, she seemed very depressed. She lost like 15 lbs in a week, and eventually went down from originally 87lbs to 73lbs. When we took her in, the vet said her heart, her vitals were all good. He said that he said she had an infection of the muzzle that made it very swollen and an eye infection. He said that was the reason she wasnt eating. He also did xrays to check for any obstruction, he recommended a barium test to be 100% there is no obstruction anywhere inside her, but money is really tight and did not do it, as l had spent my whole pay check that visit it was 600 dollars. Well now after giving her her medications her inflamation is almost all gone, and shes been eating the chicken, rice, beef chicken broth that we give her. So l assume she is getting better. She is still long from looking back to her normal weight but she is looking more alive thank God. Over the course of her illness her gums started to get pale and her tongue too. Now they are just no color in them they are really pale, so Ive read that it could be anemia or some sort of low red blood cell count, but my question is how come the vet didnt tell me anything about that when he examined her mouth? Could it be something less serious? also how long would it take her to reach her weight again? Please answer all my questions thanks for bearing with me.
